We live in hectic times and are constantly confronted with new personal and collective challenges: our day is often tightly scheduled, technical devices determine our daily routine, we are constantly stimulated by news and information, we often lack the time to catch our breath. While we are working or concentrating on tasks, we lose sight of our body's needs:
We don't feel that we are hungry, thirsty or tired. We don't move for hours on end.
We have lost the natural and deep connection to the body and ignore its needs, its rhythms, its natural cycles of activity and rest.
This is a rough picture of the most widespread habits in the Western world, a "recipe" with a familiar taste, where the ingredients and proportions vary from house to house, but the result always leaves the same "bitter taste in the mouth".
How do we get back in touch with ourselves?

A first step would be to focus less on the tasks ahead of us or to get stuck in thoughts of past experiences. We need to get back into the here & now. Because "here & now" is the only place where I really am..

Our experiences show us that we have two tools at our disposal for this: meditation and cooking.
We combine these two tools in our workshops.

"When you wash your hands, when you make a cup of coffee, when you're waiting for the elevator - instead of indulging in thinking, these are all opportunieties for being there as a still, alert presence."
In the simple tasks of the day, we find the meditative practice that enables us to find ourselves again. Many people see the preparation of our daily food as a burden, we see it as an opportunity - a path. In our workshops, we experience the mutual benefits for body, mind and environment of transforming the preparation of our food as a conscious and mindful act.

Consciously preparing food - meditating without a meditation cushion

We learned that in order to achieve effective and lasting change, we should start with what is closest and accessible to us: the first step is to reconnect with our body and our hands. A simple act that immediately brings us into the "here and now" - the only place where action and transformation are possible.
The way we see ourselves, the way we treat ourselves, how deeply we know ourselves - all this determines how we perceive our environment and how we deal with it. We are all connected. Although we sometimes feel separate from the world, we cannot live separate from the world. You can easily see this - try to stop breathing and live without air!
#BeyondRecipes-Workshops are an offer for those who want to learn the art of mindfulness in the kitchen. To nourish body, mind and soul with care and love in everyday life.
You will not only learn how to prepare healthy, wholesome fermented vegetables, sourdough bread and fresh pasta “by intuition", but also how to focus your attention on the present moment. Fermenting vegetables, making bread, making pasta becomes an exercise in mindfulness to anchor you in the here and now, to relax and ground yourself.
We teach simple practices that allow you to strengthen your concentration, develop your awareness and make healthier choices in your everyday life.
Learn with us how to ferment delicious vegetables, make healthy bread, simple fresh pasta that is not only good for the body but also for the mind.
In the #BeyondRecipes workshops, we invite you on a little journey of discovery:
We begin to explore the body and its balance.

-
Where is it and how do I find it?
-
How do I actually recognize a balanced posture in my body?

We learn to see the body as our home and to pay attention to it.

Preparing and eating meals together, resting our bodies and minds and doing good to them are practical steps towards a more conscious life in which we learn to treat ourselves and the world with more love.
